An iconic piece from the Ruru Jewellery range, this solid little hand sculpted Ruru is a small Owl that is native to New Zealand. The Ruru is also known colloquially as a "Morepork." Both names came from the distinctive call the owl makes at night - something that is a sound of HOME to New Zealanders.
The Ruru pendant measures 24mm x 11mm and is cast in solid sterling silver with an oxidised finish to bring out the details. It is strung on a 45cm sterling silver chain.
Ruru Jewellery is made by Kat Monien - a Wellington based jeweller. Her inspiration is local flora and fauna. Her jewellery is elegant and very wearable, and often has a lovely element of movement.
