This hand crafted ring by Buster Collins ring features 7 tiny hand-pierced stars representing the Pleiades or the Seven Sisters constellation.
Matariki is celebrated in Aotearoa New Zealand when the star cluster commonly known as Pleiades rises in midwinter. For Māori this marks the start of the new year and the brightness of the stars was traditionally used as an indicator of the coming season’s crop.
This collection by Buster Collins uses the seven brightest stars in their configuration for a uniquely New Zealand piece of jewellery. You can choose from a bright or oxidised finish.
Band measures 1.5mm thick with a varying width of 6 - 6.5mm
