The Ruru Claw charm is delicately carved and cast in solid sterling silver. The Ruru is the NZ native owl - often also called a Morepork. The names in both Te Reo and English refer to the sound the owl makes.  The distinctive "Ru-ru" call is a symbol of home to many New Zealanders. Ruru are a small owl, and are often spotted in trees or near street lamps feeding on small insects under the light.

The pendant is  27mm long and strung on a 50cm delicate sterling silver chain with a sprung clasp. This necklace also comes in a warm bronze version.

The Wild Jewellery is the joint creative venture of Annie Collins and Vaune Mason. After many years of working side by side in the jewellery studio, these two artists decided to make things official and create work that was a fusion of their styles and interests. The Wild focuses on endangered or extinct animals, and precious natural resources of Aotearoa New Zealand. Their jewellery is crafted in solid sterling silver or warm bronze, with rich textures and stylish designs. Accents of native timbers, bone and stone are added to individual pieces.

Customisation available on request.  Because all our jewellery is individually handmade no two pieces are identical.
